DAVID FA’ALOGO will miss the Giants’ Magic Weekend Super League clash against Wigan on Sunday.

The powerful in-form New Zealand back-row forward, pictured, is suffering from a couple of slight knocks picked up during his side’s 38-10 triumph at Crusaders.

Fellow former Kiwi ace Jamahl Lolesi has also been ruled out after he, too, picked up a couple of knocks during the win in North Wales and won’t be risked.

Shaun Lunt is another to be missing after suffering an Achilles injury in the warm-up of the Crusaders game, while Brett Hodgson is a further key absentee with a thigh injury.

But with Martin Aspinwall, Andy Raleigh and Luke Robinson returning after being rested last weekend, head coach Nathan Brown still believes he has the personnel to get the job done against the Super League leaders.

“You obviously want to field your strongest possible side when you’re playing the team that’s at the top, but we’re just not in the position to do that,” admitted Brown.

“The simple fact is that Jammer has a couple of knocks that have ruled him out and Dave has a number of niggles that would benefit enormously from not playing.

“That’s disappointing, but Super League is a long race and you want to try and be in it for as long as you can.

“That’s what we’re trying to do now.

“But we’ve still got a side that can do well, and hopefully we’ll see that on Sunday.”
