CHRIS THORMAN believes he is back where he belongs!

After spending 18 months at full-back, the Giants captain has now reverted to his original position of half-back, helping them secure two wins and a narrow one-point defeat against in-form Warrington in his side’s last four Super League outings.

The 27-year-old goalkicking ace will once again start Sunday’s clash at Castleford in the No6 position after striking up an increasingly successful half-back partnership with scrum half Luke Robinson.

And Thorman admits he is delighted to be back at the heart of the action.

“I’m glad I’ve had a spell trying out a different position, and I did enjoy it. It’s always useful to have an extra string to your bow,” said the Newcastle-born back.

“But I have to admit I now feel I’m back in my true position. I feel a lot more natural and comfortable at stand-off, and I think that’s showing with the way I’ve been playing.

“I’ve always enjoyed being heavily involved and that’s definitely what you get at stand-off where it’s pass, pass, kick and take them on.

“To be honest, I love it, and I think that’s what brings the best out of me.

“On top of that, I also feel I’m forging a strong partnership with Luke Robinson. I think we complement each other very well.

“And Kev Brown seems to be getting back to his very best since he’s moved from stand-off to centre.

“There are obviously other factors besides these changes that have contributed to some better performances over the past month or so, but I’m sure these have helped.

“I just hope that’s the case again at the weekend at Cas.

“We all enjoyed being a part of that win over Wigan last Friday, and we’re going over to Castleford with a lot more confidence than we’ve had for quite some time. We can’t wait to play again!”
