FORM Giants winger Martin Aspinwall is a major doubt for Sunday's home Super League clash against Les Catalans Dragons.

But Jim Gannon and James Evans could be fit to resume.

Former Wigan ace Aspinwall picked up a rib injury during Sunday's 44-14 Challenge Cup quarter-final triumph over Salford and will face a late fitness test.

So, too, will centre Evans and prop Gannon, who missed the clash against the City Reds with a virus.

But they are recovering on a daily basis and should be available for selection.

Still at least a week away, however, is captain Chris Thorman, who is continuing to recover well from a broken thumb.

"At this stage, Aspy has to be described as a major doubt," reported Giants coach Jon Sharp.

"His ribs are still sore and this Sunday could be a day or two too soon.

"But that could all change by the end of the week, and he may be OK.

"Fortunately, we have got some good cover if picking him seems too much of a doubt.

"We're hopeful, for instance, that Jimmy Evans will be back playing this weekend and that's an extra player in the threequarters.

"And we've also got Mat Gardner waiting in the wings. I know how desperate he is to play again."

A bigger headache for Sharp could come in the pack, with Gannon eager to return to the fray.

The forwards were magnificent in his absence against Salford, and Sharp admits he has a tough decision ahead.

"I was delighted with the way all our forwards performed at the weekend," he added.

"Jim is obviously one of our main forwards, but it didn't look as if the pack missed him much, did they?

"Their response to his absence couldn't have been better.

"It was another quality display by the pack who helped lay the perfect platform for our main attacking players to finish Salford off.

"Jim's expected return is a major boost, but it does give this coach a major selection headache!"

The Giants, meanwhile, have reported strong interest in their half season ticket campaign.

It covers the final seven games of the Super League season, starting with the game against Catalans this weekend.

It also includes games against Leeds, Wakefield, Hull, Castleford, Salford and Bradford.

The cost of the `Magnificent Seven' ticket is £99 for adults, £59 concessions and £45 for a young adult.

They are on sale from the Galpharm ticket office.
