THE Giants Junior Academy clinched a double over Keighley with a 39-21 win at Cougar Park.
After early home pressure, Huddersfield hit back with three tries in five minutes.
Phil Joseph scored the first when great vision and a long pass from Tom Hemingway gave him a clear run, then notched a second when a fine break from Lee Simpson was carried on by Richard Knight for a score under the posts, Hemingway converting.
Bolu Fagborun then notched in the corner on 13 minutes.
After Keighley scored two penalties and a drop goal, Hemingway crossed then added the extras before a Cougars try made it 20-9 at the break.
The Giants conceded two unconverted tries early in the second half before Joseph steadied the nerves by latching onto a Hemingway pass for his hat-trick try on 45 minutes.
Keighley responded with another try, and a goal, and the match was poised at 24-21.
But the young Giants held out as Keighley exerted pressure, then sealed the game in the final quarter with a 60-metre effort by Marcus George and strong run to the posts from Glen Holdsworth.
Both tries were converted by Hemingway, who also added a penalty and drop goal to complete the scoring.
