HUDDERSFIELD Giants blew Castleford Tigers away with a stunning performance to secure a 44-4 Junior Academy Championship triumph at The Jungle.

Inspired by Thomas Hemingway and new Super League signing Simon George, pictured, the Giants recovered from the setback of conceding an early try to dominate the contest.

By half-time they were 20-4 ahead and continued to keep up the pressure in the second half to put them in positive mood before entertaining Salford in their final League clash of the campaign at Laund Hill on Sunday (2.00).

Leroy Cudjoe opened the Giants' account in the 18th minute after good work from Dave Valentine.

And by the break, further tries had been added by Ashley Johnson, Cudjoe and Luke George, with Hemingway landing two of the conversions.

A good break from Joe Flaherty created the opening for Ryan Heeley to extend the visitors' lead in the 61st minute.

Then in the final 13 minutes, Graham Dobbs, Simon George and Luke George raced in for converted scores to seal an emphatic triumph.

* Junior Academy coach Chris Plume will be the guest speaker at the Senior Giants meeting in the Panasonic Suite of the Galpharm Stadium tomorrow (2.15).
