Michael Lawrence is feeling confident the Huddersfield Giants can go to Catalan Dragons at the weekend and continue to get better.

Huddersfield returned to winning ways with a spectacular 66-18 12-try Super League demolition of Bradford Bulls at Odsal.

That came nine days after being held to a battling 12-12 home draw against in-form Leeds Rhinos.

Loose-forward Lawrence was among the tryscorers as his hometown club moved up to fourth in the Super League table.

And after the manner of the win over the Bulls, the 23-year-old expects the Giants to keep moving up through the gears.

“We all felt confident that if we carried on from where we left off against Leeds last week, we’d win,” said Lawrence.

“Fortunately, that’s exactly what we did.

“Admittedly, we were a bit scratchy at times, but I think we only have ourselves to blame for that.

“No disrespect to Bradford, but we didn’t feel troubled against them at any stage. We felt in complete control, and our main failing was that we let our own standards slip at times.

“That’s something we’re obviously in a position to fix up ourselves, and that’s what we’ll be intending to do when we go to France this weekend.

“I think we’ll look forward to that challenge.”
