GIANTS ace Scott Grix in line to face Warrington Wolves and brother Simon in Sunday’s Super League XV clash at the Galpharm Stadium

NEW Giant Scott Grix has been cleared to face Warrington Wolves in Sunday’s Super League XV clash at the Galpharm Stadium.

The 25-year-old former Wakefield utility star suffered a damaged finger during Huddersfield’s 30-0 thrashing of Hull KR at Craven Park.

The injury meant Grix spent a limited amount of time on the field, with fears he may miss the clash against the Wolves and a chance to go head-to-head against younger brother Simon for the first time.

But scans have revealed he suffered a dislocated finger and not any ligament damage, and will be in the Giants’ 19-man squad for Sunday’s repeat of last season’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley.

"We didn’t know how bad the injury was at the time," said Brown.

"All we knew that he wasn’t in a position to go back onto the field on Sunday.

"But, fortunately, scans have now shown he hasn’t suffered any ligament damage and he’ll be in contention for the game against Warrington.

"That’s obviously good news."

Giants chief Brown may be tempted to field an unchanged side, with the rest of the victorious squad that ‘nilled’ Rovers having emerged unscathed from the contest.

But he may also look to rotate his squad and give a run to experienced duo Martin Aspinwall and Paul Whatuira, who were 18th and 19th man respectively at Rovers.
