ANXIOUS Giants officials are hoping the severe winter snap doesn’t force the cancellation of Saturday’s fans’ open day at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Super League club are planning to hold an open first-team training session under head coach Nathan Brown’s command at 11am.
And then fans will have the chance to meet Brown and his full Super League squad.
But with heavy snow still on the ground and more winter weather forecast for the next few days, Giants staff fear they may have to pull the plug on the event.
“We’re obviously very keen for the open day to go ahead, particularly after the success of a similar event just before Christmas,” said Giants marketing chief James Brammer.
“But if the weather takes a turn for the worse, I’m afraid we’ll have to review it.”
Unfortunately, the snow has already claimed one victim, with today’s Senior Giants meeting at the Galpharm having been cancelled.
