Paul Anderson is demanding his Giants re-discover their best defensive form as quickly as possible.

Huddersfield went into the Super 8s having conceded the least number of points during the regular Super League season.

But despite winning three of their opening four Super 8s fixtures to strengthen their bid for a top-four finish and play-off semi-final spot, they have been guilty of defensive lapses in all of those fixtures.

And Anderson is conscious that could prove costly as his club attempts to close in on a first Super League Grand Final.

“We’ve gone from a team that was conceding 15-16 points in the regular season to one that’s been conceding over 20 in the Super 8s,” said Anderson.

“And something clearly needs to be done about it.

“I honestly think that’s down to attitude, so we need to get that sorted out as quickly as possible.

“That’ll be done by rolling up our sleeves, because it’s clear we’ve still got plenty of work to do.

“We’ve shown in the last couple of games that we can be a massive threat with ball in hand, and if we can back that up by getting back to our defensive best, then we’ll prove a very hard team to beat for the rest of the season.”
