NATHAN BROWN is determined to see the Giants make a further statement of intent against St Helens in Sunday’s Super League XV clash at the Galpharm.
Third-placed Huddersfield head into battle this weekend just two weeks after securing a 26-20 home triumph over champions Leeds Rhinos.
Brown’s in-form men now have the chance to topple last season’s beaten Super League Grand Finalists buoyed by a run of three top-flight triumphs on the trot.
And with new signing Danny Brough poised to make his debut following the goalkicking scrum-half’s move from Wakefield, Brown believes everything is in place for the Giants to claim another top scalp at home and pick up win No6 of the season.
"A game against St Helens is always one to savour, and this weekend’s is no exception," said Brown.
"They’ve gone through a bit of a rough patch on the injury front, but they’re getting some of their players back and had an excellent win over Warrington last Friday.
"But what’s the most important is how we play, and I know if we can build on the form we’ve been showing over the past couple of weeks we’ll give ourselves an excellent chance.
"I was delighted with how we were able to back up our win over Leeds with victory at Harlequins last Saturday.
"So now the challenge is to back it up again with another home win over St Helens.
"These are the sort of games, and teams, we need to be winning on a consistent basis if we are to mount a serious challenge.
"Beating St Helens would put down another big marker."
