HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS captain Kevin Brown is considering submitting an early guilty plea after being charged with making a Grade B reckless high tackle on Salford's Adam Sidlow during the Magic Weekend.

The incident took place in the last minute of Huddersfield's shock 38-34 Stobart Super League defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

If Brown does submit an early guilty plea - which he is entitled to do because of his previous good disciplinary record - he will avoid an appearance at a Rugby Football League disciplinary hearing at Red Hall tonight to answer the charge.

But the 27-year-old will still pick up a one-match ban which will rule him out of Sunday's trip to Widnes Vikings, the club Brown is joining next season.

The Giants loose forward is one of six players charged in the wake of the Magic Weekend.

St Helens' Shaun Magennis and Wigan's Gareth Hock, Chris Tuson and Lee Mossop (Grade B) have also been charged over their part in the 52nd-minute derby brawl, while Widnes captain Jon Clarke has been charged with making a dangerous throw on Matty Blythe of Warrington Wolves.
