KEN DAVY believes the best is yet to come from Huddersfield Giants in 2012.

Huddersfield have reached the halfway stage of the season joint top of Super League XVII and with a home Challenge Cup quarter-final clash against London Broncos ahead of them on Sunday (5pm).

The Giants are red-hot favourites to win this weekend and book their fourth Cup semi-final spot in eight years.

And club chairman Davy is confident that if victory can be secured, the men from the Galpharm have what it takes to push on and win a Wembley final in August.

“It would be churlish not to be happy with where we are right now,” said Davy.

“We’re joint top of the table and looking forward to facing London in the quarter-final this weekend.

“But there’s a feeling throughout the club, and particularly among the players and the coaching staff, that we’re still some way from reaching our full potential.

“We do all feel the best is yet to come and that our season can get even better than it already is.

“The Challenge Cup, in particular, has been good for us over the past few years and it’s a trend we’re desperate to see continue this season.

“We’ve great memories of two Challenge Cup finals in 2006 and 2009, and we’re all determined to get there again, although this time finish first rather than second!

“And with the squad we now have, we know it’s a very realistic aim.

“Everyone within the club knows 100% we have the quality and the ability to go all the way this time – and finally bring some major silverware back to Huddersfield.”
