Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson won’t allow his team's standard to drop – despite planning to rest several key men for tomorrow’s Super League XVIII trip to Bradford Bulls.

Huddersfield wrapped up the League Leaders’ Shield with one game to spare with the 40-0 home thrashing of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Acting captain David Faiumu, Michael Lawrence, Ukuma Ta’ai and Kyle Wood retain their places, with several of the club’s highly-talented youngsters standing by to make their Super League debuts.

But coach Anderson is still expecting the 17 who get the nod to maintain the form that has brought Huddersfield’s first top-of-the-table finish in 81 years.

“The aim against Bradford is the same as it has been in the other 26 rounds. We’re going there to win,” said Anderson, who will obviously have all his main players back for next Thursday’s home play-off clash.

“In that respect, it makes no difference at all that we won the League Leaders Shield last week.

“We’re obviously resting players to give them the opportunity to get them right for the start of the play-offs.

“But I expect those who take their places to come in and produce the level of performance that’ll put them in the frame to be considered for the games we’ve still got to play. I’ll be disappointed if they don’t.

“Those who play also know how important it us for us to keep on winning and maintain our momentum.

“Anyone who thinks tomorrow’s game doesn’t matter to us couldn’t be wider off the mark.”
