NEW Huddersfield Giants head coach Paul Anderson has admitted his team is facing a crisis of confidence after watching their dismal run continue with a 35-14 home Super League defeat by Wakefield.
Anderson, who succeeded Nathan Brown in the wake of last week’s Challenge Cup semi-final defeat by Warrington, watched his side fritter away a 14-6 lead after 51 minutes to concede 29 points in the last 29 minutes as their fragile confidence re-surfaced.
And with Huddersfield having now won just one of their last nine matches – a victory over bottom club London Broncos – Anderson knows lifting the players could be the toughest task he faces.

“We’ve got to do some things to try and build up the confidence of the players again, that’s crucial,” said Anderson. “The lack of it was painfully reflected in our performance and we let ourselves down in a lot of areas.
“We failed to keep control of the ball. We had a lot of field position early on and didn’t do anything with it.
“There’s a lot for us to have to look at and try and fix up this week. Once again, changes will have to be made.”
