Paul Anderson is considering making changes for Saturday’s trip to Bradford Bulls.

With the Giants having secured the Super League Leaders Shield with the 40-0 home thrashing of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and the Bulls unable to reach the play-offs, the contest is something of a ‘dead rubber’.

That’s not a view shared by no-nonsense head coach Anderson, who remains desperate to win to maintain the momentum heading into the play-off series.

But he admits he may rotate his squad to make sure they’re in the best possible shape for the start of the potential march to Old Trafford for the Super League Grand Final on October 5.

“At this stage we’re assessing our options,” said Anderson.

“One or two players did go into the Wakefield game carrying knocks, and they might benefit from having this weekend off.

“At the same time, we’ve also got a number of players who missed out against Wakefield and are desperate to play against Bradford to prove they deserve to feature in the play-offs.

“But whatever side we put out on Saturday, we’re going there to win. That’s the bottom line.”

One player who will be determined to play is in-form back-row forward Dale Ferguson, who missed out against the Wildcats after picking up a knock in training.

“Fergy was bitterly disappointed not to play on Sunday,” added Anderson.

“Since coming back from his loan spell at Hull KR earlier in the season he hasn’t looked back, and he would have loved to have been out there the other night.

“But I’m sure that will make him even more determined when he gets back out onto the field.”
