Angry Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson knows Wigan Warriors will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing his side next Thursday if they play like they did at St Helens last night.

The Giants five-match winning run came to a juddering halt with a demoralising 41-22 defeat at the hands of former coach Nathan Brown and his side at Langtree Park.

It was one of the Giants worst performances of a stuttering 2014 campaign and Anderson knows a repeat against in-form champions Wigan at the John Smith’s Stadium next week will add to his side’s woes.

“After a display like that I bet Wigan can’t wait to play us,” said Anderson.

“We were awful, it is as simple as that, and there is no way I can dress up a performance like that.

“There was no intent shown by anyone out on that field, and that is very difficult to take.

“Once again we were poor from the start and that is the first thing we need to address, but on the evidence of last night that’s just one of many things we need to address.

“It was good to see Ben Blackmore take his tries the way he did in his first start of the year, but this really was a game when I couldn’t find any positives at all.”
