GIANTS coach Nathan Brown has heaped praise on winger Leroy Cudjoe’s predatory talents.

At the heart of the Giants 32-18 win over Harlequins at the Stoop was Cudjoe, who marked his switch back to the wing from full-back to accommodate fit-again captain Brett Hodgson with a hat trick of tries.

And coach Brown, whose team have moved into third place in the Super League XV table, was delighted with the way the 21-year-old Huddersfield-born utility back played.

“Leroy is a great finisher and he always seems to know where to put himself,” added Brown.

“When you put him in a scoring position he usually takes that opportunity and this game was no different.

“He may not have needed to work hard but it is all in the anticipation.”

Meanwhile, Giants secured their first Under 20s Championship victory of the season with a 40-12 triumph over Harlequins at The Stoop.

After losing their opening two fixtures and drawing with Leeds Rhinos in their previous outing, coach Paul Cook’s side made no mistake fourth time around to dominate their capital clash from start to finish.

At the heart of their success was fit-again Super League squad hooker Keal Carlile, who is now back in the fold after missing the start of the season with a knee problem.

His influence was apparent from the start, backing up his first appearance of the season against the Rhinos with an even more dominant showing in the curtain-raiser to the Super League clash.

Had the 19-year-old Carlile been around against Warrington and Wakefield it’s possible defeat could have been avoided.

With the teenager pulling the strings from the start, the Giants were in complete control throughout, opening up a 22-0 interval lead before cruising to their victory after the break.

Winger Alex Brown and second-rower Jacob Fairbank led the tryscoring with two each, while there was one each for full-back Elliot Hodgson and back-rowers Jamie Cording and Kris Harrop.

Gregg McNally completed the scoring with six goals.
