HUDDERSFIELD Giants playmakers Danny Brough and Luke Robinson are back!

The inspirational duo have left rehabilitation following surgery and joined the rest of the squad for Super League XVII pre-season training.

Scrum-half Brough has been recovering from an operation on a knee injury suffered during training for England’s Four Nations campaign in October, while hooker Robinson has undergone elbow surgery.

As a result, both men spent the first month away from the training field.

But they were back with the bulk of the first-team squad this week as the Giants gear up for their Super League XVII opener at Wigan Warriors on Sunday, February 5 next year.

And head coach Nathan Brown is delighted to see them immediately pulling the training strings once again.

“Getting these two back has given everyone a boost.” said Brown.

“They obviously have a lot to offer the team and it’s good to see them come in and play an active role right from the start.

“They’ve come back to us in great shape, with their fitness levels really good.

“That’s meant they’ve had no problem getting back into the groove for what were looking to achieve next year.”

Their returns also mean the Giants now have all their playmakers back in full training, which is something else that’s delighted Brown.

“Robbo and Broughy will be able to work with Kev Brown, Shaun Lunt, Tommy Lee and Scott Grix,” added the Galpharm chief.

“On top of that, there’s also young Greg Eden (from Castleford), so we’ve got a lot to look forward to over the next few months. The quality of the work should be even greater.”
