The Huddersfield Giants have still to earn the right to have a full Christmas break.
That’s the warning from head coach Paul Anderson as he keeps the pressure on his players to make sure they are in the best shape for the start of the 2015 Super League season.
Even though Anderson has admitted he’s challenged his squad in pre-season training far more than ever before, the Huddersfield chief is still looking for improvements from everyone.
And that means a busy festive training schedule could be on the cards.
“We’ve still to decide exactly how much time everyone will have off over Christmas,” said Anderson, although he has confirmed overseas stars Chris Bailey and Ukuma Ta’ai will return home for a Christmas break with strict orders to come back in the same shape as they left.
“We’re due to finish on December 23 and have pencilled in a couple of dates during Christmas week. But things could change between now and then.
“All of the coaching staff are continuing to be encouraged with the work everyone’s putting in, but there’s still more for us to do.”
