EORL CRABTREE’S testimonial Twenty/20 cricket clash ended in dramatic fashion as two highly-competitive teams fought out a thrilling tie at Meltham.

Chasing Andy Booth’s Town XI total of 178-8, Crabtree’s Giants side were 177-5 with one ball remaining.

But Jamahl Lolesi held his nerve to grab a single, although he and Danny Brough were unable to run a second a clinch a stunning win.

Brough ended as the Giants’ three highest run-maker behind Brad Drew with 69 and Mark ‘Bumper’ Andrews on 43.

However, the Giants’ bowling star was Drew’s 10-year-old son Harry, who grabbed two wickets, as did Keiran Blacker.

Top scorers for Town was Booth with 50 and Phil Redgwick (37).

“This was another great event, and because the game ended in a tie everyone went home happy,” said Crabtree.
