IN-FORM David Faiumu believes the Giants are in the best possible shape to take on the might of Super League champions Leeds Rhinos at the Galpharm on Sunday.

The New Zealand Test ace was at the heart of Saturday’s 52-0 destruction of Wakefield Wildcats at the Hearwell Stadium.

And he feels that’s the perfect preparation for what will be Huddersfield’s biggest fixture of the season so far.

"Leeds are the champions, and when you’re facing a champion team it’s vitally important you go into it fully prepared and playing well," said the 26-year-old.

"Obviously, we’re playing well, as we showed against Wakefield, and we know that the coaching staff will make sure we’re prepared as well as we possibly can.

"That’s going to give us a lot of confidence going into a game that we know is going to be really tough.

"But if we can successfully build on what we did in that Wakefield game we know we’ll give ourselves a good chance.

"It was very enjoyable playing in last Saturday’s game. Piling on the points, scoring tries and working hard is always a great feeling, and hopefully it’s something we’ll experience quite a few times over the next few months."
