GREG BROWN has been hailed for his work as the Giants’ new head conditioner.

The club’s former rehabilitation chief took  over as the man to knock Huddersfield into  shape for the forthcoming Super League campaign following the departure of Paul  Watson to London Broncos.

Brown’s work is at the heart of the current  pre-season programme, with more  game-related emphasis taking place after  Christmas as the Giants gear up for their big  2012 opener at Wigan Warriors on Sunday,  February 5.

And by that stage, head coach Nathan  Brown is confident the Galpharm fitness  guru’s punishing regime will have paid off.

“Greg’s done very well,” said Brown.

“From day one, he seemed to be on top of  things, and everything appears to be going  very well on the conditioning front.

“Taking over from Paul Watson was  always going to be a hard act to follow.

“But Greg has had little trouble stepping  in and the players are responding to what  he’s doing.

“The signs are looking good,  but the acid  test is always how everyone goes when the  season gets going.”
