IMPROVING the Giants’ attack will be the main focus between now and the club’s Super League XVI opener on Saturday week.

That’s the pledge from Galpharm chief Nathan Brown, left, despite watching his side win 36-12 against full-strength St Helens at Widnes on Monday night.

The Giants scored six tries to Saints’ three as they gained a massive boost of confidence ahead of their clash with Warrington Wolves in Cardiff as part of Magic Weekend in 10 days’ time.

But Brown has revealed he will be looking for more from his main strike players when they take to the Millennium Stadium pitch.

“Although it was good to beat St Helens, I expected us to be better on attack, especially as our halves have been together for a while now,” said Brown.

“It’s clear that needs to improve, and that’s what we’ll be working on so we’re in the best possible shape we can be in for our opening game.

“Fortunately, we’ve still got a bit of time.”
