Unhappy Giants head coach Paul Anderson was left looking for a third win after his side were beaten 26-19 at Wigan Warriors.

The Super League result at the DW Stadium put the home side top, but left the Giants – despite a hat trick of tries from full-back Ryan Brierley – rock bottom and they will now target a home win against Leeds Rhinos next time out.

“We keep saying it and it’s getting boring, but we are a good team,” said Anderson.

“The penalty count in second half didn’t help, and Wigan have done a good job on the referee at half-time.

“Having said that I am unbelievably proud of the effort we put in – particularly as we played for 20 minutes of second half with 12 men”

The Giants will be looking forward to a huge Challenge Cup sixth round clash as they take on holders Leeds Rhinos.

The tie will be played over the weekend of May 7-8 at the John Smith’s Stadium.
