KEVIN BROWN could have played his last game for the Huddersfield Giants.

Having already stepped down as captain in the wake of Monday's departure of head coach Nathan Brown, the 27-year-old loose-forward is now facing a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The former England stand-off has been ruled out of Sunday's side to face Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the Galpharm Stadium, when new head coach Paul Anderson will take charge of the team for the first time.

But it is thought the nature of the injury could prevent him from playing in the final seven games of the regular Super League season, as well as the play-offs.

And with Brown moving to Widnes Vikings in 2013, it means his time in the claret and gold could have come to a premature end.
