RISING Giants star Gregg McNally has re-joined hometown club Whitehaven on a dual registration contract.
The 19-year-old scrum half shot to fame with the Co-operative Championship club and spent all of last season on loan with the Cumbrians.
He has so far been unable to break into the Giants’ Super League side, with a start now even more unlikely following the capture of fellow half-back Danny Brough from Wakefield.
And with very few Under 20s fixtures scheduled for the next few months, Haven can guarantee McNally will be able to keep playing at a good standard on a regular basis.
The teenager will still train with the Giants before linking up with Haven to play the games.
The dual registration deal is similar to those in place at Batley Bulldogs, where young Giants Alex Brown, Josh Griffin and Kyle Wood will be plying their trade this season, although they can all be recalled at 24 hours notice.
McNally, pictured right, is expected to play for Haven at Featherstone Rovers on Sunday, meaning he won’t be in the Giants Under 20s side at home to St Helens at the YMCA tomorrow (2.00) as they bid to back up last week’s big win at Harlequins.
