GIANTS hooker Scott Moore was jubilant after making the Super League team of the year – and is hoping his Old Trafford dream is still alive after admitting he was ‘stupid’ in getting a club ban.

The 21-year-old – stood down as a disciplinary measure by his club – joined teammate full back Brett Hodgson as Super League presented their Dream Team for the 2009.

“It is a massive honour for me and it really was a bit of a shock as we were only told about an hour beforehand,” said Moore.

“My season has been unreal to be honest. I was selected for England and then to top it off with this has made it momentous really.”

Moore, on a season-long loan from St Helens, missed the win over Wigan for an alleged breach of discipline (so did Keith Mason) and the club say an investigation is still ongoing

Moore is just focusing on reaching the play-off final at Old Trafford on October 10, a journey which starts at Saints on Saturday (6.00) – a game Moore fully expects to miss.

“I don’t know if it’s official but I have been banned,” he said. “I’ve got another game yet. There’s talk of a fine too. I’m not too sure. I’ve got a meeting with the board.”

Moore said he and Mason have apologised for their actions to their teammates and the club’s board of directors and accepted their punishment.

“I’m gutted at myself more than anything. I’m stupid for what I did,” added Moore.

“We made a public apology to all the boys and I personally apologised to the board and Browny (head coach Nathan Brown) as well.

“It’s put to bed now. Hopefully I can get back in the team after and kick on and get to the Grand Final.”
