DETERMINED captain Kevin Brown has pledged to do everything in his power to make sure the Huddersfield Giants don’t falter again on the big stage.

Huddersfield have gained an unwanted reputation as ‘chokers’ in higher-profile fixtures and they again fell short in the top-of-the-table Sky-televised Super League home clash against Wigan, when the Giants could have re-established themselves as leaders.

Apart from a few notable exceptions Huddersfield have failed to deliver when it really counts.

And as the Giants prepare to face Salford at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium as part of the Magic Weekend on Sunday (2.00), Brown has made it clear they will be looking to turn on the style.

“We’d built up the Wigan game, were determined to put on a show and get the win but, instead, we played poorly as a team and individually.

“I include myself in that, and it’s important we don’t do the same again.

“We all know we’re a far better side than we showed, but we’ve been saying that far too many times when it’s come to some of the bigger games.

“It’s about time that came to an end and Sunday against Salford is all about starting to right the wrongs.”
