Huddersfield Giants will field an unchanged side for Thursday’s Super 8s home clash against Castleford Tigers.

Head coach Paul Anderson is ready to keep faith with the same 17 that secured their hard-fought 28-22 triumph at St Helens 12 days ago for the top-flight clash against the Tigers, which will mark Eorl Crabtree’s 400th appearance for his hometown club.

Anderson is also planning to name the same 19-man squad – Oliver Roberts and Jodie Broughton missed out on final selection at Langtree Park – and knows how important it is to have a settled side at this stage of the season.

“The squad’s come back to training after a couple of days off and looks really fresh,” said Anderson.

“There was a real energy in the work everyone was putting in and now it’s a case of fine-tuning things to make sure we give ourselves the best possible chance of beating Cas and moving a huge step closer to securing a top-three finish.

“We’re planning to pick the same 19 and the same 17, which is a good position to be in at this stage of the season. We’re always striving for continuity.

“We’ve got to make the most of this, and keep on building in the matches that remain.”
