CATALAN Dragons have become the entertainers of Super League over recent years.

The French club’s free-flowing style is paying off too, as they currently lie fifth in the Super League XVIII table.

That is mainly down to the club’s playing roster which is pretty impressive, with New Zealand international backs pair Brent Webb and Zeb Taia, as well as France captain Olivier Elima added to their already aggressive forward pack this year.

But that playing roster was unable to overcome Huddersfield in Perpignan earlier in the season, as the Giants were defeated 28-20 st the Stade Gilbert Brutus at the back end of April.

And their last clash at the John Smith’s Stadium also holds fond memories, as the Giants overcame the Dragons 36-18 last season to secure Paul Anderson his first win as head coach.

Their own recent form has been a little hit and miss, however, after last week’s closely fought 21-20 defeats to Hull KR and then their emphatic 30-4 win over Hull FC.

But the Giants know it’ll be an extremely difficult test tonight at the John Smith’s Stadium against one of last year’s top-four clubs.

EVERGREEN Steve Menzies still has the ability to pull the rabbit out of the hat.

The former Manly Sea Eagle, who holds legendary status back in his native Australia, is the oldest player in Super League at the age of 39.

But the man who is affectionately known as ‘Beaver’ does not let it affect him, with Menzies still one of the best forwards in Super League.

That was clearly evident when Menzies, a former Kanagroos international, was one of the star performers for the Exiles team against England in the recent Origin Test and his off-loading ability is sure to be a threat to the Giants tonight.

HIGHLY-RESPECTED Laurent Frayssinous is proving he is the ideal replacement for Trent Robinson.

The former Catalan player took over at the end of last season when Robinson returned to Australia and became the first Frenchman to coach the club since their inception into Super League back in 2006.

Also the youngest coach in Super League at just 35, Frayssinous has kept the Dragons within the chasing pack.
