MEMBERS of the squad who helped the Giants gain promotion to Super League in 2002 will be among the guests of honour at tomorrow’s Galpharm Stadium clash against Hull KR (7.15).
Ahead of kick-off, the likes of Chris Thorman, Paul March, Heath Cruckshank, Jon Grayshon, Ben Cooper, Rob Roberts and Jeff Wittenberg will be introduced to the fans as part of the eagerly-awaited ‘Return of the Giants’ fixture.
The players were in the squad that helped beat Leigh 38-16 in the NFP Grand Final at Widnes in a fixture that was the start of Huddersfield Giants emerging into a respected Super League force.
Their introductions just before kick-off is the final part of a bumper pre-match programme as the Giants celebrate their first game back at the stadium following a two-month absence to enable the Galpharm pitch to be re-laid.
The fun starts at 5.45pm, with six interactive inflatables on the outer concourses for fans to enjoy, along with free face painting and player postcard giveaways. .
“There is a great deal of anticipation ahead of our homecoming fixture,” said Giants marketing manager James Brammer.
“And we would encourage supporters to arrive early and enjoy the outer concourse entertainment ahead of welcoming the 2002 promotion side just before kick-off.
“It will be a terrific family occasion, and the pitch is in great shape and ready for the intensity of engage Super League action.”
