Paul Anderson expects his Giants to pass their massive test of character in the South of France this weekend.

Huddersfield will tomorrow face a Catalan Dragons side lacking in confidence after losing their opening five Super League fixtures.

As a result, the Giants are expected to build on last weekend’s 66-18 thrashing of Bradford Bulls at Odsal and secure a third top-flight success of the 2014 campaign.

But Anderson has hammered home the message that his side can take nothing for granted at Stade Gilbert Brutus (kick-off is 5.30 English time) and that only his side’s best will be good enough against the struggling Dragons.

It’s always a challenge down there, and this one will be no different,” said Anderson.

“Regardless of their performances and results so far this season, we know how dangerous they can be, particularly at home.

“If they get a sniff of something and their passionate home fans get behind them, it can prove a pretty intimidating environment.

“That’s when you really have to dig deep, stand up and show your true character.

“That’s the challenge we face this weekend, and it’s one I expect us to pass.

“After a start to the season that was far from great, we’ve started to build some momentum in our last couple of games (the 12-12 home draw against in-form Leeds Rhinos and thrashing of the Bulls) and we’ve got to make sure we don’t take a backward step this weekend.”
