HUDDERSFIELD Giants are ready to start the new season with more Galpharm Super League fans than ever before!

A total of 6,300 season tickets have already been snapped up for the new home campaign, which gets under way against the newly-promoted Widnes Vikings on Sunday, February 12.

Around 5,800 are stand tickets, with the rest corporate passes.

That means the Giants have already smashed their previous best of 4,800 season tickets, set last year.

And with the deadline for the £50 season tickets (in the Fantastic Media stand behind the posts) not coming to an end until this Friday (5pm), the Giants officials are confident that figure will continue to grow.

Those tickets have been selling on a regular basis over the past few months, with Giants managing director Richard Thewlis delighted by the uptake.

“This is fantastic news,” said Thewlis.

“Our first target was to beat our previous best season-ticket sales mark of around 4,800, which we have sailed passed.

“We already have well over 6,000, and we’re hoping that figure will get a big, final push over the next couple of days, which is when our amazing deals come to an end.

“But whatever happens, our £50 promotion has to be hailed as a great success.

“It means we’ll have more supporters than ever before behind the posts this year , and this will help create an even more vibrant atmosphere and matchday experience.”

The Giants Super League XVII season gets under way at Wigan Warriors on Sunday, February 5.

Before then, Huddersfield play their final trial game at Halifax on Sunday, with head coach Nathan Brown expected to give several of his Super League squad a run-out.
