HUDDERSFIELD Giants have once again underlined their potential at Scholarship level with two impressive victories at Warrington Wolves.

The most eye-catching result was achieved by the Under 16s who stormed to a 40-14 triumph, while the Under 15s edged a closely-fought encounter 26-18.

Leading the way for the 16s was George Croisdale with two tries, with Zack McComb, Canaan Smithies, Danny Hirst, Mikey Wood and Elliot Morris grabbing one each. Jacob Flathers completed the scoring with six goals.

It proved far closer for the 15s, who fought back from a 6-4 half-time deficit to emerge victorious.

Tryscorers were Oliver Bartle, Liam Hodgson, Darnell McIntosh, Liam Johnson and Sam Moore, while Sam Wood landed three goals.

Unfortunately, it was a different midweek story for Huddersfield’s Under 20s side, who suffered a heavy 72-10 defeat at Wigan Warriors.

It was always going to be a tough encounter for what was a young and relatively inexperienced Giants line-up, and by half-time the hosts were completely out of sight at 48-0.
