Huddersfield Giants chief Paul Anderson intends to make the John Smith’s Stadium a Super League fortress between now and the end of the season.

Huddersfield face the mouth-watering prospect of five home games in their last seven top-flight fixtures in the regular 2014 campaign.

The games against Bradford Bulls on Sunday, Catalan Dragons, Widnes Vikings, Hull FC and St Helens give the Giants an excellent chance to build some momentum ahead of the start of the play-offs.

A win over the Bulls will also help Huddersfield get back on track after two successive defeats, while also confirming Bradford’s relegation from Super League.

And Anderson knows the run-in provides his side with a golden opportunity to mount a decisive late charge.

“We’ve got to make the most of the run we’ve got in front of us,” said Anderson.

“Apart from the away games at Wakefield and Warrington, the rest of our fixtures in the regular season are at home.

“We’ve only lost twice at the John Smith’s Stadium this season, and we’ve got to get back to making it a bit of a fortress again.

“The memory of our defeat to Salford in our last home game the other week is still fresh in our minds and it goes without saying we want to avoid a repeat.

“Getting back to our best form in front of our own fans isn’t our major source of motivation – that’s coming to work every day and doing the best you possibly can – but we’d obviously like to put on a decent show and start to build some momentum going into the end of the season.”
