BRETT FERRES  could be a Huddersfield Giants player as soon as this weekend.

It is believed the Giants are looking to tie up a deal for Castleford Tigers' 26-year-old England back-row forward this afternoon.

And if Ferres is registered before the 2pm deadline, he could figure for his new club in Sunday's home Super League clash against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Ferres is thought to be close to signing a contract until the end of the season and then for the next three seasons, and will be the first signing under new head coach Paul Anderson, who took over from Nathan Brown on Monday.
