GIANTS hooker Shaun Lunt will be released by England tomorrow to enable him to prepare for Huddersfield’s Super League clash at St Helens on Friday night.

Lunt was called up to the England squad for Saturday's Gillette Fusion Test against France at Leigh to cover for the potential loss through injury of Leeds' Kevin Sinfield and Saints' James Roby, who are now winning their fitness battle.

The Cumbrian will, however, rejoin the England camp straight after the Giants v Saints game and remain with the national squad until Sunday morning.

"Shaun won’t play for England this Saturday but we are delighted to have him with us as part of the group," explained England coach Steve McNamara. "He’s learning a lot from the experience and is contributing a lot to the squad.

"We don’t want to prevent him from playing in a Super League fixture and feel this arrangement is best for Shaun, Huddersfield and England."
