EVERY Huddersfield Giants player is 100% behind the club’s decision to make Paul Anderson head coach for 2013.

That’s the call from club captain Kevin Brown after it was announced Anderson would take over from Nathan Brown when the current Galpharm chief returns to Australia at the end of next season.

Former Great Britain prop Anderson has always been regarded as Brown’s natural successor.

And with Brown having now confirmed he’ll be heading home at the end of Super League XVII, the club immediately handed Anderson a three-year deal in a move which has earned universal approval.

“We’re all delighted for Baloo (Anderson) and there’s no doubt at all the club have made the right decision,” said Giants stand-off Brown.

“When we were told the news as a group the other day, I think it’s safe to say it was met with 100% approval from the boys. To be honest, it didn’t come as any great surprise to anyone.

“It was the logical decision to make. But it was still great to hear.

“Baloo is definitely ready to take over, because we’ve all seen for ourselves what a fantastic coach he is, and I’ve also seen him develop over the years as well.

“I arrived at the Giants at pretty much the same time as Baloo when he was first appointed assistant coach, and in that time he’s grown and grown and grown.

“Not only is he technically spot-on, he also possesses excellent man-management skills.

“We obviously love working with Browny, and we’re all excited about what next season might hold in store, but we’re also looking forward to working under Baloo.”
