HUDDERSFIELD Giants head coach Paul Anderson is ensuring his side won’t be short of numbers over the Easter period.

Anderson and his players are preparing for three Super League games in eight days.

The Giants head to Salford City Reds on Friday before hosting Widnes Vikings on Easter Monday (both 3.00).

And they now will travel to Castleford Tigers on Saturday, April 6 (3.00), for a fixture that has been changed for Sky Sports coverage.

The game was originally due to take place at the Wish Communications Stadium on Friday, April 5 at 8.00, but has now been pushed back following a Sky scheduling switch.

Even with the extra day it is a programme that will test Anderson’s squad to the full.

But with Luke George, Ukuma Ta’ai and Matty Dawson – all players with Super League experience this year – left out of the side that played at Warrington last Friday and Michael Lawrence closing in on a return following ankle surgery, Anderson has some impressive back-up.

On top of that, the Giants chief has also recalled forwards Anthony Mullally and Josh Johnson from their loan spells at Batley and Doncaster respectively to cover the busiest of spells.

And the former Great Britain prop is hoping this strength in depth will prove highly significant over the next three matches.

“It’s obviously at times like this that your squad is going to be tested to the full,” said Anderson.

“But we are doing okay in terms of who we’ve got available to us.

“So far, we’ve not done too badly injury-wise.

“We all know that can change very quickly.

“But at the moment we do have the players to cover what is always a tough time of the year for teams.

“We do have options available to us, and we’ve got to make the most of these.”

Giants supporters should note that tickets which have already been purchased for the Castleford game are still valid for the new date.
