GIANTS half-back Danny Brough has picked up a two-match ban.

The former Super League Man of the Steel pleaded guilty to the Grade C offence of striking Salford hooker Logan Tomkins with the elbow during Huddersfield’s 34-12 opening Middle 8s defeat at the AJ Bell Stadium on Sunday.

It means Brough, who also received a £300 fine after appearing in front of a Rugby Football League disciplinary hearing, will miss Sunday’s home clash against Featherstone Rovers and the trip to Batley Bulldogs seven days later.

With Brough sidelined, fellow half-back Ryan Brierley would appear the natural choice to step up and partner scrum half Jamie Ellis in this weekend’s ‘must win’ game against former coach Jon Sharp’s Rovers.
