Leroy Cudjoe's enthusiasm hasn’t been dampened by his failure to feature for England in this autumn’s international series.

The in-form Giants centre was picked in his nation’s 24-man squad for the warm-up clash against France and the three Tests against New Zealand.

But while clubmates Brett Ferres played in all four games and Jermaine McGillvary made his debut as England claimed a 2-1 series success over the Kiwis with the 20-14 weekend win at Wigan, Cudjoe spent the entire time on the sidelines – although he doesn’t feel that was the end of the world.

“I’m obviously pretty gutted not to have played in any of the games and at least had an opportunity to show what I can do,” said Cudjoe.

“But, on the other hand, I was happy I was back in the squad after missing out last year. That’s a positive I can take from the last five or six weeks, as well as training daily with some of the world’s best players.

Missing out on playing certainly hasn’t dampened any of my enthusiasm.

“Having said that, I am looking forward to having some time off and getting away from the rugby environment to make sure I come back into pre-season fresh.

“I’ll definitely be looking forward to getting back amongst the boys and ripping in to training and trying to build on the form I was showing at the back end of the year.”
