Leroy Cudjoe knows a mouth-watering home derby clash against Leeds Rhinos is just what the Huddersfield Giants need to get their early Super League challenge back on track.

While last year’s table-toppers Huddersfield have a win, a draw and a defeat from their opening three top-flight fixtures, the Rhinos are joint top with three wins from three.

But England centre Cudjoe knows his side has what it takes to bounce back from Friday’s shattering 22-20 shock defeat at Widnes and pick up the pieces against the Rhinos.

“Although we’re all hurting as a result of that Widnes game we know we’re a good team,” said the 25-year-old.

“Our challenge this week is to go out and prove that against Leeds, which is always an exciting prospect.

“We’re more determined than ever to get a good week of training behind us, ready for a massive game against a good team in form.

“We always enjoy playing Leeds. It always seems to bring the best out of us, and we’ve obviously got a good recent record against them.

“After drawing and losing our last two games, this could be just the type of challenge we need to put things right.”
