Well, here we are in the Stone Age.
What an excellent phrase the Examiner used the other day!
Will Mr Stone weave some magic with the players?
In fact, does he need to use a wand? After all, the starting line-up at his disposal is, to all intents and purposes, a top four side.
We should be challenging for a trip to Old Trafford.
However, the psychological factor comes in to play.
We are used to losing. The Championship sides, Leigh especially, are used to winning.
All it will need is a couple of “Oh, this will be an easy game” attitudes and we will not even feature in the Million Pound Game!
We most certainly have the players to survive, but do we have the fans?
More than ever, we now have to head down to the John Smith’s Stadium – and the away venues – and make ourselves heard.
Yes, we have all been fed-up and annoyed with most of the performances this season.
But let’s put that behind us. Let US be that 14th player that the likes of Leeds have at their matches.
Now is the time to encourage, not berate.
Now is the time to join in with the superb efforts of the singers and chanters. Don’t be embarrassed, don’t just sit there. SHOUT, SING, CHANT. Let’s make ourselves heard!
And to those of you who, understandingly, have said “I’m not going to pay good money to watch that rubbish”, give the team another chance. Show your support.
Show your support for the team, for the club, and, let’s not forget, Ken Davy.
Let’s make one last big effort and get behind the players for this most crucial part of the season.
