HUDDERSFIELD Giants' prop forward Tony Tonks has ended his injury-hit stint at the Galpharm by signing for Championship club Halifax .

The 27-year-old joined the Giants from Featherstone at the start of the season but made only one substitute appearance before breaking his arm in a reserve match.

Tonks was given permission by the Giants to talk to other clubs and has signed a deal with Halifax to the end of the season, although he will not be eligible for the Northern Rail Cup final against his former club Featherstone on July 29.

"Tony’s with us until the end of the season, with a view to a longer-term deal beyond that," said Fax boss Karl Harrison, who first signed Tonks as a 16-year-old for Bradford Bulls.
