HUDDERSFIELD Giants Under 20s cruised to a fourth Valvoline Cup victory of the season with a 38-12 triumph at Bradford Bulls.

The visitors dominated from the start, building up an 18-6 interval advantage before powering on in the second half.

With Josh Griffin back in the side because his dual-registered club, Batley, were in Northern Rail Cup action, Huddersfield were quickly into their stride, with Keal Carlile making the most of his switch from hooker to scrum half for the day.

Fellow Super League squad man Jacob Fairbank led the try-scoring with two, with other scores coming from Elliot Hodgson, Griffin, Sam Hendricks, Greg Worthington and Joe Parkinson.

Worthington completed the win with five goals ahead of Friday’s trip to second-placed St Helens (5.45) in a Knowsley Road curtain-raiser to the Super League clash between the two sides.

There was a 28-16 Valvoline Academy home defeat for the Giants against Wakefield in which the hosts scored tries through Perry Whiteley, Aaron Briggs and Danny Ansell, who also added two goals.

And there was a heavy 52-12 home defeat for The Under 15s Scholarship side against Featherstone Rovers.
