HUDDERSFIELD Giants Under 19s are ready for one of the biggest Academy tests of their season so far.

Coach Chris Thorman’s mid-table team host second-placed Wigan Warriors at Laund Hill tonight (7.30) searching for a sixth win from their opening 10 games.

They warmed up for the contest with a 32-20 triumph at Featherstone Rovers, in which tries from Jack Blagborough (2), Josh Hunt (2), Sam Candlin and Lewis Graham and four goals from Jack Miller sealed the home side’s fate.

But tonight is clearly going to be a far tougher assignment, with the Warriors having won nine of their first 11 fixtures.

And there will be little time for Huddersfield to recover as they then host Warrington Wolves at Huddersfield YMCA on Saturday (2pm).

That is, in fact, part of a double-header, with the Giants’ Under 16s in Academy action against South Wales Academy at 4pm.

Giants Under 19s (v Wigan): Jake Connor, Jared Simpson, Jake Shoel, Lewis Graham, Jordan Higo, Sam Candlin, Jack Miller, Nathan Mason, Sam Rochford, Josh Johnson, Pete Aspinall, George King, Mikey Wood, Canaan Smithies, Tyler Dickinson, Jack Blagbrough, Elliot Morris, Will Carlos.
