Excited winger Jodie Broughton intends to show former club Salford no sympathy when the Huddersfield Giants bid to make it 10 wins from 11 Super League clashes at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

The 26-year-old spent four years with the Red Devils before moving to Huddersfield for the start of the 2014 campaign.

Broughton missed out on selection when the Giants won 42-22 at Salford on Easter Monday.

But he’s set to face Salford for the first time since his move this weekend and he’s warned them to expect few favours.

“I’m really excited about this one,” said Broughton.

“I was gutted not to play against them earlier in the season, because it’s always a bit special playing against your former club, even if there are a lot of different faces from last year.

“But while it may feel a little strange facing Salford at first, I don’t think that feeling will last very long.

“Huddersfield is definitely my club now, and I love being part of it.

“Last year the Giants won the League Leaders’ Shield, so I expected this club to be the best, and since I’ve been here I’ve not seen anything to dispute that.

“But even though we’ve won so many games, I still don’t think our performances have been all that good, and it’s about time we did something about that,

“I’m determined to do what I can to make that happen, and I certainly don’t intend for Salford to stand in my way.

“Doing my best for the Giants is all that matters this weekend, nothing else.”
