Huddersfield Giants winger Luke George will join Bradford Bulls on a two-year deal when his contract at Huddersfield expires at the end of this season.

The 25-year-old winger becomes the Bulls' third signing ahead of the 2014 season with Giants team-mate Dale Ferguson already on the move to Odsal and Warrington prop Garreth Carvell having already penned a deal.

In the Giants 2012 campaign George scored 15 Super League tries but has fallen out of favour this season and earlier this year spent a loan spell at Hull KR.

The move could mean that the long-rumoured switch of Jodie Broughton from the Salford City Reds may have come a step nearer.

If Broughton was to move across the Pennines he would be competing with Jermaine McGillvary, Aaron Murphy and Ben Blackmore for a wing spot in 2014, meaning the news of George's departure has come as no real surprise

Speaking about his decision to quit the claret and gold George said: "I think it was time for me to move on. Franny (Francis Cummins) has opened the door for me at Bradford and given me a really good opportunity to do something.

"The Bulls are a very prestigious club and have won every trophy possible.

"They've had a rough few years and not been as successful as they have in the past but you can see what Franny is trying to move the club forward and get Bradford back to the top."

Bradford coach Cummins said: "You talk about building squads but Luke has got pace and can play wing as well as deputising in the centre," he said.

"That versatility is important because we need competition for places in a squad that's not the biggest."
