Huddersfield Giants head into Sunday’s Super League showdown at home to Hull FC without international stars Scott Grix and Leroy Cudjoe.

Ireland international full-back Grix and England centre Cudjoe will not face the Airlie Birds with head coach Paul Anderson confirming both players are still trying to shake off knocks suffered in the 24-24 draw at Warrington Wolves in the most recent round of Super League matches.

Two Giants players are set for career milestones having been included in the squad for tomorrow’s game, as prop Eorl Crabtree prepares to play his 300th Super League game for the Giants, while half back Luke Robinson will make his 350th career appearance.

Anderson, who is looking to complete the season on winning form with his side facing table-toppers St Helens at home in the final game of the regular season next Friday, is plotting to put one of this  season’s embarrassing moments behind him.

“The two games being at home is good for us and we owe Hull one because they embarrassed us earlier in the year,” said Anderson.

The 30-6 defeat at the KC Stadium followed the Giants controversial exit from the Challenge Cup at the hands of St Helens and Anderson admitted his side had not been at their best.

“We were emotionally drained after the Challenge Cup fiasco,” said Anderson.

“We also had to back up a Sunday TV game with a Thursday TV game and emotionally we just weren’t there for that game.”

But with the play-offs looming he expects a much more focused display in the return.

“We have got to be better than that,” added Anderson.

“What we have is a great opportunity to win the last two games.

“We have got to make sure that we take our best game on to the field and play well – and right some wrongs along the way.”
