Playing up the slope in the first half Underbank Rangers didn’t get off to the start their coach wanted conceding a converted try after 5 minutes. The game was quite tight for the next 15 minutes with both defences working hard. On 20 minutes Rangers got their first score when following a great off load from Darren Southwell, Dom Horn touched down with the ever reliable Oliver Moorhouse converting (6:6)

Greetland shocked Rangers on the 30 minute mark with an unconverted try (6:10). With the clock running down to half time Rangers moved the ball from left to right for Tom Stringer to score on 39 minutes in the corner, Moorhouse converting.(12:10) There were no further scores in the half.

Rangers started the second half with a sense of urgency when on 42 minutes Martin Wilson displayed good juggling skill to find Tom Stringer for his second try, Moorhouse converting.(18:10). On 47 minutes Moorhouse found himself in possession on the half way line and accelerated away to score in the corner and then adding the extras himself. (24:10)

Horn got on the score board again with a try in the corner following a good ball from Dayle King, this time the conversion was unsuccessful.(28:10) Tom Stringer got his hat trick on 57 minutes following impressive approach play from Hedley Coldrick and Dave Jackson who was involved twice in the move. The conversion was missed (32:10).

With the clock now on 65 minutes Rangers had a scrum just inside their own half, the ball was fed to Joe Bellas who raced away to score in his first game of the season under the posts, normal service was resumed when Moorhouse added the extras.(38:10). On 70 minutes Rangers had a scrum on the Greetland 35m line, a nice little run around saw the ball given to Bellas who scored in the corner, Moorhouse converting. (44:10).

With Rangers applying more pressure on 74 minutes Southwell seemed surprised to receive the ball 10 yards out but in his usual blockbusting style forced his way over by the posts, Moorhouse converting. (50:10)

Unfortunately in the 78th minute the game was abandoned due to a serious injury to a Greetland player. This put a damper on the celebrations for Rangers, however the players and coaching staff sent their best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured player.

This was a great all round team performance in which Lucas France (aka Carrots) was named man of the match.

Meltham travelled to Odsal full of confidence ,and after taking a early lead through a harvey hindle try things were looking good, then they seemed to switch off for the rest of the half and ended up trailing 20-4 at half time ,in the second half tries from lambert , richardson and graham got meltham back to within 2 points , but odsal held out for the victory ,the little badger cider company man of the match was matteo zaffino
